Our Story

In 2018, a small group of 10 men and women fully dedicated to God’s call and purpose planted Life Change Church. Led by Pastors Mark Crawford and Irik Archie and their wives, the group had one mission and purpose in mind – to worship in a place where God was truly the head and Christ was the focus.  As the name indicates, our vision is to change lives of people.  2 Corinthians 5:17.
 
Starting out in a small hotel room with a group of about 25 members, the church quickly grew to the around 100 faithful members in a matter of months.  While in the hotel, we saw many people, including many unchurched, surrender their lives to Christ.  Additionally, we had several service projects, including outreach to the Houston Food Bank, the Beacon House and the local Fire Department. We even conducted a shoe drive (“Soles for Souls”) to provide shoes for lower income communities.  It was in these early days that the foundations of of our culture began to be formed, with a focus on teaching the word of God, providing practical guidance on how to live a godly life and serving our community.

After operating in a hotel for 6 months, God opened the door for the church to lease approximately 10000 square feet of space, which we converted to a church sanctuary, class rooms and administrative offices.  The church continued to grow, with new members joining each Sunday.  And despite Covid, the church continued to thrive by continuing to to share God’s word and serve our community.  During Covid, we started our Summer Food Drive, where we fed hundreds of families in our community and continued with our other community outreach activities, including our partnerships with Redeemed Ministries which focuses on supporting victims of human trafficking and the local police department.  We’ve also started our Summer Reading Lab to improve the reading of 1st – 4th graders, conducted our back to school back pack drive and distributed socks and blankets to the homeless.  God was using us to impact those around us for His glory. 

By the end of 2021, the church had grown to more than 200 members.  In preparation for future growth and impact, God opened the door for the church to purchase more than 13 acres of property.  The property is located across the street from a high school where our youth leaders have worked for more than 15 years.  Additionally, the property is in a racially and economically diverse community.  These are all things we prayed for when looking for a permanent home for our church.  We are expecting to start the building process by the end of 2024 and finalize our new home by the end of 2025.  And, just as we’ve done the first 6 years, we’ll continue the work God has started with us by sharing His word and serving our community. Put simply, it’s the same mission in a different location – we’ll be loving God and loving people.
