Romans 6: 16-19; Psalms 119: 9-11; 1 Peter 2: 1-2; Deuteronomy 28:2; Philippians 3: 12-15; 1 Peter 5: 8-10; 2 Peter 1:3; Matthew 7: 13-14

Scriptures:

1) Growth is a process (Romans 6: 16-19)

2) Growth cannot happen apart from obedience to God's Word (Psalms 119: 9-11; 1 Peter 2: 1-2)

3) You have to desire a relationship with God (Put forth some effort! (Deuteronomy 28:2;

Philippians 3: 12-15)

4) Suffering is part of the process (1 Peter 5: 8-10)

5) God gives us strength, power, or grace to produce the change. (2 Peter 1:3; Matthew 7: 13-14)
